Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 6, 2021

This past week was chock-full of significant ministry opportunities in strategic places in our nation’s capital, from prayer gatherings around a key abortion case being argued at the Supreme Court to our annual Live Nativity highlighting the birth of Jesus. We must say it really draws attention when a camel comes to Capitol Hill!

At a time when people are despairing over the direction of our country and when religious liberty is often constrained in the public square, our Live Nativity served as a reminder of the God our Founding Fathers trusted for the future of America.

There is something about seeing the Nativity scene come to life as volunteer actors don biblical costumes and portray Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus along with the shepherds, town folk, drummer boy, the wise men from the East and the angels. Live animals—a sheep, a donkey, a calf and even a camel—joined them! On the plaza of the U.S. Supreme Court, everyone who listened heard the true meaning of Christmas.

We are thankful for this special event to proclaim the gospel message in our nation’s capital. Christ has come!

Blessings in Christ,

The Faith & Liberty Team

We need YOUR help to keep this mission going! Faith & Liberty is 100% donor driven, and we cannot minister in our nation's capital without YOU. Right now, a generous 500,000-dollar Matching Gift campaign offered by a Christian organization will DOUBLE your gift. But we only have until December 31 to reach the goal. THE MONDAY RECAP & MORE
  • A Candlelight Prayer Vigil was held at the Supreme Court. The prayer gathering started Nov. 29, and continued for 24 hours before the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case was argued. Faith & Liberty assisted in the vigil with speaking and prayer.
  • Mississippi’s Attorney General Lynn Fitch, who is defending the state’s 15-week pro-life law in the Dobbs case, appeared before the Supreme Court Justices to argue the case Dec. 1. The Faith & Liberty team assisted with Mississippi’s Empower Women Rally outside the Court. There were a variety of speakers, including several leaders of the pro-life movement and members of Congress, as well as our vice president, Peggy Nienaber, and Rev. Greg Cox, lead missionary. The Ministry Center also held an all-day Open House allowing pro-life leaders and supporters to listen live to the arguments being made inside the Court!

Peggy Nienaber with Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch

  • Following the oral argument before the Court, Alliance Defending Freedom and the Mississippi attorney general’s office invited the Faith & Liberty Team to celebrate our pro-life efforts. They honored our team with an award and acknowledgement during the Dobbs Appreciation Dinner. We are grateful!

COMING SOON

  • Peggy Nienaber will be speaking at the Congressional Members & Spouse Christmas Tea Event.
  • Faith & Liberty will be hosting Christian Legal Society’s Christmas Social for Christian attorneys and law students in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia region. This event will be a special time of fellowship as we celebrate all that God has done this year and as we recommit to God’s purpose for the legal community in D.C.
  • Our team will continue the many activities at the Ministry Center, including the Bible studies, Men’s and Women’s Prayer Breakfasts and opportunities to meet those on Capitol Hill who are requesting prayer and quiet time.
  • We also will call as many supporters as possible this month, letting you know we have appreciated your prayers and support in this critical year. Without you, it would not be possible to do the work we do in Washington, D.C.

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what's happening in our nation's capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER

Pray for a decisive pro-life ruling from the Justices deciding the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. Pray that our country would repent for the slaughter of the unborn and that God would meet the needs of parents in crisis through Christians in their communities.

Pray that the administration and legislators would seek the living God. May they find the humility and wisdom they need to lead this country well.

Pray for the Faith & Liberty team as we minister to staffers on Capitol Hill. Pray that we will see more interns and staffers follow Christ through our work at the Ministry Center.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
