Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Aug 23, 2021

It’s been a relatively quiet month on Capitol Hill, although we were evacuated last Thursday when a man threatened to detonate several bombs. Thankfully, he surrendered to police, and we certainly pray for him to surrender to the Lord as well. We are also thankful for God’s hedge of protection through it all, but it does serve as a reminder that we are dependent on His watchcare for us at all times on Capitol Hill and elsewhere.

Thank you for praying for us and we continue to rest in the hands of our good, good Father.

Blessings in Christ,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • The Ministry Center has been hosting our usual Bible studies, The Monday Club, Family Game Night and the monthly Prayer Breakfast. This fall will bring new studies and topics to our studies.
  • Peggy Nienaber participated in the International Religious Freedom (IRF) Summit steering committee picnic this past weekend. She enjoyed the fellowship time with those who were the initial backbone to the inaugural IRF Summit last month bringing awareness to Christian persecution around the world.

COMING THIS WEEK

  • Peggy Nienaber will participate in the “Prayer Rally for Afghanistan” this Wednesday. We will gather with several Christian groups outside of the White House to pray for the human rights crisis unfolding in Afghanistan. We will intercede particularly for the safety of our Christian friends and missionaries still in the country as the U.S. pulls its military out after being there for 20 years.
  • Patty Bills is reaching out to notify all concerned about the upcoming “Praying for Life” rally on October 2 at the Supreme Court.

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington (e.g., “John Lewis Voting Rights Act,” “Equality Act”) and do your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for the Faith & Liberty ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Join us in prayer for the dire situation in Afghanistan. Americans have a hard time imagining what it would be like to live under Taliban rule with women enslaved and Christ-followers persecuted.

Pray also for direction as we start to plan for future International Religious Freedom events to help those in need in nations around the world.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
