Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Aug 2, 2021

As of this writing, members of the Faith & Liberty team are on our way to Orlando, Florida, but no, we’re not going on vacation! We will be “manning” our booth and representing Faith & Liberty at the Orange County Convention Center. About 12,000 believers who are active in Assemblies of God churches in the U.S. and around the world attend this annual event.

We so look forward to this time and appreciate your prayers for a fruitful time of ministry and encouragement to press on in this great work God has called us to do.

Please also pray that we make good connections with current and potential new supporters at the U.S. Assemblies of God General Council. We greatly value those who already support us in our vital mission on Capitol Hill, and we also would like to build our support to increase our impact among America’s national leaders and their staff.

Thank you for standing with us in this great work!

Blessings in Christ,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

Special prayer visitors to Faith & Liberty

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • The congressional staffers gave their Bible study a special name, “The Monday Club,” and they had a packed house last week! During their study, they tackle the most frequently cited objections to claims for the existence of God and determine how this will help them answer questions from other staffers or even members of Congress.
  • The Faith & Liberty team hosted Liberty University‘s alumni and new staffers on Capitol Hill serving in congressional offices. The Tuesday reception was a huge success as alumni shared their experiences and gave advice to the incoming interns. We prayed with the interns and shared about the opportunities to connect with our Bible studies.
  • Peggy Nienaber welcomed missionaries from Pennsylvania called “The Praying Pelicans” (and of course, there’s a story behind that name)! Peggy shared what Faith & Liberty has been doing on Capitol Hill along with our many outreach programs. We prayed together at the Supreme Court, with the Praying Pelicans interceding for our ministry.
  • We were delighted when a longtime Faith & Liberty supporter who has been involved in many of our events came by for a visit to the Ministry Center! Pastor Ron Cargil, pastor of United Christian Church of Candler in Central Florida, and his family have been faithful supporters of our work in the nation’s capital. New prayer partners based in Arlington, Virginia, also stopped by to pray together and learn more about our work at the Ministry Center.

Bible studies at the Ministry Center

COMING THIS WEEK

  • As mentioned above, the Faith & Liberty team will be representing Faith & Liberty at the U.S. Assemblies of God General Council in Orlando.
  • Our ongoing Bible studies will meet to learn from God’s Word and enjoy fellowship at the Ministry Center.
  • We continue to plan for and invite people to the “Praying for LIFE” rally Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. Hope you will come!

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington (e.g., “John Lewis Voting Rights Act,” “Equality Act”) and do your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for the Faith & Liberty ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Pray for a good trip to and from Orlando, and that we make good connections with supporters at the AG General Council gathering.

Pray for congressional staffers, who have the challenging job of anticipating members’ needs to ensure they have all that they need to effectively represent their constituents. Pray for the staffers to rely on God as they face many challenges in their important roles on Capitol Hill.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
