Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jul 26, 2021

What know that our Faith & Liberty supporters are committed to freedom, family and life. No doubt then, you will want to stand with us in person or from afar during the “Praying for LIFE” event this fall.

Join us Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, for this massive prayer rally in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. We are asking anyone and everyone who cares about the sanctity of human life to take part in this gathering in front of the High Court.

The event will usher in the 2021-2022 SCOTUS term, which could prove to be a monumental year for life. SCOTUS will hear Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, a challenge to a Mississippi law that prohibits abortion after 15 weeks. The Justices will reexamine the viability standard decided in Roe v. Wade 48 years ago. That infamous Supreme Court decision has led to the death of over 63 million unborn lives, but we believe the day is drawing near when we will see it overturned! Gather with us Oct. 2 as we pray for our Supreme Court Justices and stand in solidarity for LIFE!

Blessings in Christ,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

Peggy Nienaber with Dr. Paul Dhinakaran and his wife. Dr. Dhinakaran of Jesus Calls Ministries is considered the "Billy Graham of India."

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • Peggy Nienaber finalized the travel arrangements home for the VIP speakers who participated in the inaugural International Religious Freedom Summit. This followed a week full of conversations and relationship building, for which we are most thankful.
  • The Monday’s Club Bible Study continued for Capitol Hill staffers who come for the wisdom of the Word and fellowship of friends and colleagues in the uplifting setting of the Ministry Center.

COMING THIS WEEK

  • We have a visit Monday from missionaries from the unusually named “Praying Pelican Missions Team.” The team is on Capitol Hill and helping D.C. ministries with prayer, volunteering and spiritual support.
  • Faith & Liberty is hosting a Fellowship Reception for Liberty University alumni as well as the new LU interns and staffers just starting work on Capitol Hill. Our Tuesday reception will be a time to pray and fellowship together.
  • The International Religious Freedom Summit steerincommittee will also meet this week to discuss how to enhance next year’s event and work to stop Christian persecution around the world

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington (e.g., “John Lewis Voting Rights Act,” “Equality Act”) and do your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for the Faith & Liberty ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Pray for the IRF Summit steering committee as we debrief after the recent event that drew participants from around the world. We ask the Lord to bless our efforts and to protect those who are persecuted for their faith as well as their families. We also pray for the growth of the church in nations where believers live out their faith in oppressive environments.

Pray with us for the Capitol Hill staffers we seek to reach for Christ. Through Bible Studies and other events, we pray that they would see in us the peace that passes all understanding that comes as we find our identity in Christ.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
