Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jul 5, 2021

We are in the final stretch of preparations for the first inaugural International Religious Freedom Summit. Hosted by over 70 organizations, the IRF Summit will be held in Washington, D.C., July 13-15. Intercessory prayer groups are making plans and will be using a designated prayer room during this prominent event.

I was privileged to be asked to serve on the steering committee and value your prayers of support as the event will soon be underway. Needless to say, this event and all that surrounds it is a special opportunity for Christians to come to the aid of their oppressed brothers and sisters around the world and demonstrate the love of Christ to those who adhere to other faiths.

You are also welcome to attend the IRF Summit. Please register here.

Blessings in Christ,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • The Bible studies that started in January have now come to a close. New studies and themes begin in July for staffers on Capitol Hill.
  • We are starting to plan for the Alumni and Interns Reception at our Ministry Center. With new interns coming to Capitol Hill, it is a good time to have the alumni share their experiences with new staff. We look forward to opportunities to pray with the interns and let them know we are here to help in any way we can during their time in Washington.
  • Patty Bills, our director of constituency affairs, had a conference call with Rev. Liz Dole, co-founder and executive director of an organization called She Leads Michigan. SLM provides faith-based solutions for modern-day challenges and will be joining us in October in Washington for the She Leads America event. SLM's vision is for strong Christian women leaders from across America--hopefully with one leader from each state--to come together in prayer at the Washington Monument.
  • Merry CHRISTmas! Yes, this special day may be half a year away, but the Faith & Liberty team's preparations have begun for the LIVE nativity, so mark your calendars for Dec. 1! We secured our baby Jesus this week along with new costumes for the actors. Our friends and supporters Fred and Karen Knight are specially designing the costumes this year, and have been working on them since January, so you know they're going to be exceptional! There's more to come, so please stay tuned.

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation's capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington (e.g., "For the People Act," "Equality Act") and do your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for the Faith & Liberty emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

We are grateful that we live in a land where we have freedom of religion, which we, as believers, celebrate on Independence Day. As we anticipate the IRF Summit, let us be mindful of persecuted Christ-followers in nations from India to Eritrea. Let's keep them in daily prayer as well as preparations for the July Summit.

Along with our regular outreach, we have some construction projects going on at our Ministry Center. We are thankful for the laborers who are persevering in over-100-degree temperatures to do their work with excellence and without complaint. Pray for strength to endure and that their work will be completed as scheduled.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
