Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Mar 8, 2021

The Faith & Liberty Team has certainly been active in our nation's capital this week. We are thankful for your prayers that undergird the significant work we do together to reach America's leaders and advance the gospel.

This week, we were so pleased to launch a new Bible Study for staffers on Capitol Hill. Faith & Liberty's Team is always looking to share the gospel with those who work in the congressional buildings.

Perhaps the most far-reaching event we are anticipating is the 2021 International Religious Freedom Summit, which will be held this summer in Washington, D.C. The summit will bring groups together from around the world for the cause of religious freedom. We need to build publicity and political power to increase religious freedom around the world, so this event is much needed.

Please stand with us with your prayers and support!

Blessings,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • Peggy Nienaber talked with Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) on a Coalition meeting Zoom conference call. They discussed upcoming legislation that needs much prayer and acknowledgment.
  • On a Zoom call with Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), we talked about concerns related to the misnamed "Equality Act."
  • Peggy also was able to participate on the Faith & Community Engagement conference call engaging with those in the federal buildings.
  • The Faith & Liberty Team held some lunch meetings with pastors on Capitol Hill to plan for upcoming events. We are asking them to engage with us on these important events.

UPCOMING THIS WEEK

  • Peggy Nienaber and Patty Bills will host a Facebook Live with Keith Davidson, founder and director of Seedline International, on the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon, which will be held May 1-5. To participate as a reader—virtually or in person—please call Patty Bills at our office at 202-737-1776.

  • The Faith & Liberty Team is working on the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon schedule and inviting members of Congress to participate.
  • Peggy also will meet with Aglow International to pray with members of Congress.
  • The Faith & Liberty Team continues to pray for and with members of Congress. Our team is on Capitol Hill each day to support, listen and pray for the needs of the members and their staff.

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

There is so much happening in our nation's capital that demands our attention and immediate response. To stay up to date on issues on Capitol Hill (e.g., "Equality Act") and learn how you can get involved, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

The U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon will be here before we know it! Although it is an annual event, it still requires much coordination to engage political leaders, pastors and others we want to involve in upholding the authority of the Word of God in our nation's capital. Please remember us in prayer as, no doubt, spiritual forces of darkness are at work to destroy the effectiveness of this event.

Please also pray for the planning of the upcoming 2021 International Religious Freedom Summit. I have been asked to serve on the steering committee, so I appreciate your prayers for wisdom in that role. Stay tuned for more details to come!

All of our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Again, thank you!

God bless you!
