Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Feb 1, 2021

JonA-march4life

Friday, January 29, 2021 was the 48th Annual March for Life. Due to restrictions, the march began with a smaller group, in comparison to typical years, but gained marchers along the walk to the U.S. Supreme Court. The march followed a different route this year and they ended up walking right past the Ministry Center!

We also participated in events surrounding the March the Life, including the “Pro-Life March Symposium: Abortion in the Black Community.” Jonathan Alexandre, Liberty Counsel Action’s Senior Counsel for Governmental Affairs spoke on the panel. With a new administration in the White House, Jonathan addressed concerns over the abortion issue in 2021. Discussions included a comparison between the last administration, which stood up for preborn babies, to the current administration that is committed to the abortion agenda, having already rescinded the Mexico City Policy on the eve of the March for Life. The Mexico City Policy barred U.S. foreign aid from being used to perform or promote abortions. The panel discussed the impact of abortion in our country, particularly in the black community, and organizations that are making a difference for the sanctity of human life.

You can watch the symposium here.

As you can see, the unborn need voices speaking out for them in Washington, DC. Thank you for standing with Faith & Liberty as we affirm the sanctity of human life on Capitol Hill!

Blessings,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE F&L MONDAY RECAP

  • Faith & Liberty participated in the Law of Life Summit. The summit looked at this important moment in the pro-life movement and what concerns we have to address under the new administration. We have to begin discussing the future of the pro-life movement and forming a vision for the next three years.
  • We participated in the Department of Homeland Security- Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives: Faithful Action: Preventing Exploitation & Human Trafficking Among Youth in a COVID Environment webinar. January was National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. During the pandemic, youth have become increasingly vulnerable. The panel discussed this growing concern, highlighting youth prevention programs, strategies and resources to counter exploitation and human trafficking in a COVID environment.
