Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Mar 22, 2021

It's been a busy week here in Washington! We are so grateful for your continued prayers as we seek to support inside-the-Beltway lawmakers and their staff. Those leading our country have been tasked with a difficult job, a great responsibility and a high privilege. We come alongside them with both fervent prayers and Scripture-based guidance.

Please join with us in the battle for America!

Blessings,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • Peggy Nienaber participated in the International Religious Freedom working meeting to plan for the IRF Summit this summer in Washington, D.C. "Prisoners of Conscience" will be another focus for the IRF Summit. Faith & Liberty's staff has been part of the steering committee planning for this most important event.
  • A Zoom meeting was held with the Chaplain of the House, former U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Margaret Kibben, to discuss her goals for this year. She is working with various ministries on Capitol Hill to assist with her significant ministry.
  • Faith & Liberty staff had a live broadcast with Keith Davidson of Seedline International to talk about the upcoming U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon. Have you signed up to read yet? This will be our 32nd year reading the Bible from the beginning to the end in 4½ days right on Capitol Hill. Faith & Liberty will host this most important event again May 1-5.
  • We focused our prayers during the Senate Judiciary Committee on the "Equality Act."
  • Peggy Nienaber participated in the Faith & Community conference call.
  • The Faith & Liberty staff had a conference call with filmmakers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett to discuss their upcoming film, Resurrection. Discovery+ will stream the biblical epic about the resurrection of Christ this Saturday, March 27. The film shows what happened immediately after Christ's crucifixion as His followers desperately seek to understand what happened to their Savior and Lord.

COMING THIS WEEK

  • Planning continues for the Prayers4America event at the Capitol on March 31.
  • Peggy Nienaber will participate in the State Department International Religious Freedom Conference call.
  • We will have Lunch & Prayer meetings with Capitol Hill staffers as the city starts to open again.
  • The Men's Waffles & Prayer Event will be held at the Ministry Center.

PRAYER

Pray for the protection of lawmakers whose leadership impacts their states, the nation and even the world. Pray for them to follow the principles found in God's Word and lead with integrity for the good of the American people.

The  U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon is coming up May 1-5 this year. Pray that our nation's leaders will uphold the Scriptures, knowing that the Bible is at the heart of America's founding principles. Pray that America will return to God's precepts.

All of our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Again, thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
