Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Mar 15, 2021

The Faith & Liberty Team has been occupied with making an impact for Christ through activities at our Ministry Center in the nation’s capital. We know you are standing with us as we interface with key lawmakers and congressional staffers.

As we often do, we’ll be holding prayer and lunch meetings with Capitol Hill staffers in the coming week. This gives us the opportunity to spend one-on-one time, pray with staffers and invite them to our Bible studies and breakfasts.

If you've been tracking with our ministry, you also know about the upcoming 2021 International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, D.C. People from around the world will attend the summit this summer joining together in the fight for religious freedom.

Stand with us, and we thank you!

Blessings,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE MONDAY RECAP

  • Peggy Nienaber met with intercessors from Aglow International to pray for our nation’s capital, members of Congress and for all those on Capitol Hill.
  • We participated in a Capitol Hill Ministry Coalition webinar on Pro-Life Concerns with the Equal Rights Amendment.  The U.S. House and Senate are expected to consider the ERA soon, so we discussed the history, process and imminent threat of this resolution.
  • We had a Women’s Prayer Brunch, Bible studies and a family night with congressional staff and those who work on Capitol Hill.
  • Peggy Nienaber participated in the International Religious Freedom Roundtable.
  • Liberty Counsel’s Senior Counsel for Governmental Affairs Jonathan Alexandre spoke as part of the Caribbean for L.I.F.E. Discussion Series, covering critical pro-life concerns: stories of individuals and institutions most affected by the forced compliance of abortion mandates; the legislation, policy and personnel that feed abortion compliance; laws that are on the books and attempts to silence speech that opposes abortion.

COMING THIS WEEK

  • Peggy Nienaber will be participating on the steering committee for the International Religious Freedom Summit planned for this summer in Washington, D.C.
  • Peggy also will be participating in a Capitol Hill Ministry Coalition lunch. Along with an opportunity to fellowship, we’ll have a time of prayer for our upcoming activities and event.
  • A livestream video with Peggy Nienaber, Vice President, Patty Bills, Director of Constituency Affairs, and Keith Davidson, founder and director of Seedline International, and sponsor of the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon has been scheduled, to give an update on the coming event May 1-5, 2021.
    • To participate as a reader—virtually or in person—please call Patty Bills at our office at 202-737-1776.
  • Prayer and lunch meetings with staffers on Capitol Hill will be held at the Ministry Center this week. This gives us the opportunity to have one-on-one time and pray with congressional staffers and invite them to our Ministry Center’s Bible studies and prayer breakfasts.

PRAYER

The Faith & Liberty team values the time you take to bring our needs and requests to the Lord. Please pray that we would keep in step with the Spirit as we seek meaningful connections with those in power in Washington and with the staff who support them.

Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as we plan the 2021 International Religious Freedom Summit. Peggy is serving on the steering committee for this event.

Pray for all those who are coordinating political leaders, pastors and others participating in the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon. We must point to God and His Word of God as the ultimate authority in America and the world.

All of our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Again, thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
