Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 7, 2020

Last week, Faith & Liberty held the Live Nativity on Capitol Hill, right in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. This living Gospel tract powerfully displayed in our nation's capital the promise of peace to a nation and its leaders plagued by partisan disagreements, protests and chaos. Without doubt, Faith & Liberty's reenactment of the miracle of the Nativity impacted the many people on Capitol Hill who witnessed it. Unlike the recent protests in Washington, DC, the Live Nativity procession did not shut down traffic or result in violence. Instead, this procession of the Holy Family with Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus followed by the Wisemen and Shepherds brought joy to those there as evidenced by the many smiles and positive statements of thanks and appreciation.

The Live Nativity is the result of your partnership with Faith & Liberty! Thank you!

Blessings,
Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

THE MONDAY RECAP

Here are just a few of our other activities over the last few days:

  • Peggy Nienaber had a zoom conversation with Rep. Mike Johnson and Rep. Jim Banks regarding the upcoming 117th Congress.
  • Faith & Liberty hosted the LIVE Nativity in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. Even with the restrictions of this year, we were able to present the Holy Family, Shepherds and Wisemen, while the Gospel account of that first Christmas night was read from the book of Matthew.
  • We had a conference call with Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler to pray and discuss current issues.
  • Patty Bills & Peggy Nienaber attended the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. The Capitol spokesperson Kimberlee Phillips stated, "we are not cancelling Christmas - we're going to figure out a way to do it, one way or another."

UPCOMING THIS WEEK
  • Planning is in progress for Remembering the Unborn – Flowers & Prayer Vigil 2021
  • We are preparing the Special Edition Scripture Booklets to be given out before and after the 59th Presidential Inauguration and Swearing-In Ceremony.
  • Faith & Liberty will be taking part in a year-end roundtable discussion with Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, Sam Brownback.
  • On Monday, Peggy Nienaber will be having a zoom chat with newly-elected Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IS-1), Congresswoman Young Kim (CA-39), Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) and Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13)
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." -2 Chron. 7:14

There is so much happening in our nation’s capital that demands our attention and immediate response. Look for our ACTION emails coming up this week. All of our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Again, thank you!

PRAYER

Please continue to lift up our leaders in prayer. The Bible commands us to intercede for the authorities in our lives. Pray for health, safety, and godly wisdom as they face difficult decisions.
