This week, Faith & Liberty hosted the 31st US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon at our facility directly across the street from the US Supreme Court, where for 90 straight hours the Word of God was read aloud from Genesis to Revelation.
At the same time, we are conducted our annual DayBreak Prayer on the West Plaza of the Supreme Court where a group of pastors from across America gathered to pray for the Court and for the Justices.
But at the same time these momentous events have been occurring on Capitol Hill, there is a battle happening in America that could ultimately silence our prophetic witness to our public policy makers: Will Christians become second-class citizens? Entire groups are pushing our nation to answer, yes.
This month, a Christian website found out through a leaked memo that Discover Card had decided to shut down all cardmembers' donations to GiveSendGo, the top free Christian crowd funding site.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Discover credit card company claimed the Christian group “broke operating regulations,” but when our team and the organization’s CEO both reached out to Discover, the company was unable to say what regulation had been broken.
However, as we expected that turned out to be a lie.
A leaked internal memo provided to our team shows Discover secretly shut down donations because the site allowed people to donate toward attorney’s fees for a minor, Kyle Rittenhouse, even before he was declared guilty.
Discover positioned itself as judge, jury, and executioner. Discover cut off all donations to GiveSendGo, including people using the site to raise money to adopt children, treat cancer, repair car accidents, and more. Then Facebook banned the URL, Amazon threatened their servers, and even the credit card processor, Stripe, tried to shut down this Christian site.
This is the shocking level of censorship that our team is seeing all across America. Help fight against this by faxing Congress and to demand these special protections for these Big Tech companies be lifted now.
On another front, MobileCause broke its contract with a Christian nonprofit on the eve of its voter education seminar. A salesperson told our team, they “don’t work with hate groups that are identified by a national organization.” The national group they were referring to is the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center.
The editor of SPLC’s “Intelligence Report,” Mark Potok stated the group’s mission. “Sometimes the press will describe us as monitoring hate crimes and so on,” said Potok of the SPLC. “I want to say plainly that our aim in life is to destroy these groups, to completely destroy them.”
This is exactly the second-class citizenship we am seeing across our nation. Services are being offered and then unequally yanked away from Americans because of their outspoken faith.
This has haunting hints of the dehumanizing efforts that Nazis used against the Jews; they denied them services that were available to everyone else and ostracized them. That behavior quickly slipped into heavy persecution.
Right now, our government has given these Big Tech corporations legal immunity, not unlike a foreign king on American soil. They can trample the free speech rights of Americans and never face the legal consequences that every other industry would face. Stand up now while we still have a voice, and fax Congress to end the special privileges and powers these corporations have.
Information found in the subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law led members of the U.S. House of Representatives to send a letter to Amazon’s CEO. It discouraged the use of the SPLC’s “hate map” to decide who AmazonSmile will support because of the SPLC’s proven bias against conservative voices.
In addition, 100 Orthodox Jewish Rabbis sent a similar letter to the same CEO because, “The SPLC ‘hate map’ is uniquely detrimental and even dangerous to the Jewish community, and to urge you directly to terminate the association of your generous AmazonSmile charity-support program with the SPLC and its ‘hate map.’”
It’s time to end this dangerous and destructive censorship! Send your fax to Congress and the Federal Trade Commission to demand an end to the special protections these Big Tech corporations have enjoyed for far too long.
We are honored to partner with you, to magnify your voice, and to make a difference on Capitol Hill. We can only do this thanks to the generous donations of friends and supporters that keep our ministry moving forward. I invite you to give your best possible donation today to continue this momentum for freedom.
For our nation to survive, we must have the freedom to sift and sort through a free marketplace of ideas to allow the best thoughts to win. It’s time to end the possibility for a random robot or tech person to decide what information you can and can't have.
Your missionary team to Washington, DC,
We also invite you to forward this message to like-minded friends who want to see freedom preserved in America. If you haven’t already, sign our petition to protect free speech.
Each day brings a new set of expenses to keep our ministry moving forward. If you can support Faith & Liberty with a donation of any size today, we would be grateful for your partnership in the vision to restore freedom in America. God bless you.
