As September approaches, we are excited about hosting the 2020 US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon at our ministry center right across the street from the US Supreme Court. We are still in need of virtual readers, so if you would like to join us and read a portion of the Bible please sign up online, under Faith & Liberty EVENTS. The 2020 US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon is September 12th - September 16th.

As the summer winds down and we prepare for the fall, it’s been a very busy season for your missionary team at Faith & Liberty.

We had numerous of important meetings in which we participated during this last week. Thank you for standing with us as our ministry and our nation are in need of your continued support and prayers.

THE MONDAY RECAP

• We hosted our Monday Bible Study for congressional staffers. Building these relationships helps us strengthen these young adults and it gives us a friendly face for when we are visiting the congressional offices.
• We participated in study and group committee meetings, as well as one-on-one meetings where I was able to pray and encourage numerous individuals.
• We met with the Aglow International Prayer team from Portland, OR. They visited our ministry center and the team prayed for each of the Supreme Court justices by name, they prayed for the administration and members of Congress. The team also prayed for the Faith & Liberty ministry and all the upcoming programs and events.
• We were on a National Faith Leaders conference call with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman to discuss the historic agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirate.
• We participated in a White House conference call with OMB (Office of Management and Budget) Director Vought, Homeland Security Acting Deputy Secretary Cuccinelli, acting White House Director of Legislative Affairs Amy Swonger, and Counselor to the Secretary at the Department of the Treasury Daniel Kowalski.
• We participated and prayed in a meeting with Fr. Frank Pavone and pro-life leaders from across the nation.
• We continue to work on Bible Reading Marathon details along with other prayer events coming up this fall.
• We participated on a call with members of Congress and Pro-Life leaders to work on how to advance the pro-life agenda in states that have a high rate of abortion.
• We continue to connect with members of Congress via phone and zoom, enabling us to pray and support them as they need.

UPCOMING THIS WEEK

We continue our preparations for the Bible Reading Marathon being hosted this year at the ministry center. This year will have a number of firsts because of the COVID-19 epidemic. We also continue to prepare for our Prayer Retreat as well as the 40 Days of Prayer that will begin toward the end of September. We’re working on getting that setup so that you can click a link and submit your prayer requests online. 40 Days of Prayer will focus on praying for the election of individuals who will bring Biblical principles to Capitol Hill, values definitely in great need in Washington, DC.

Today we participated in a strategic Pro-Life Caucus focused on prayers and planning to protect the unborn. We continue to stay abreast of important national issues that impact every American as well as pastors and churches across the nation.

There is so much happening in our nation’s capital that demands our attention and immediate response. Look for our ACTION emails coming up this week. We really need everyone to take a stand with us both in prayer and with your generous investments in this ministry.

PRAYER

Please pray for those who individuals who are causing destruction in our country. From defacing government monuments to destroying and looting small businesses, these actions go way beyond peaceful protesting. Our country needs intercessory prayer. Please join us every day this week.

We are making a difference as your missionaries on Capitol Hill and it’s only because of your generous investments in this ministry that we are able to fulfill God’s calling on our lives.
