Support Your Missionary Team to Capitol Hill!

Just last week, Faith & Liberty Vice-President, Peggy Nienaber, participated in a virtual meeting with Rep. Steve Scalise, to discuss the critical issues facing the House of Representatives as we race toward the Fall and the national election.

This Monday at our National Ministry Center, right across the street from the US Supreme Court and one block from the US Capitol Building, we will begin our Bible Study luncheon outreach to members of Congress and their staff as we prophetically declare the Word of God to our public policy makers.

During July, we have several critical pro-life strategy and prayer meetings scheduled. Leaders of the pro-life community will come together to seek the face of God and discuss the best way forward after the disappointing June Medical decision at the Supreme Court.

Also, in July we will be hosting several Prayer Breakfasts for men and women specifically focused on reaching powerful women in Washington, DC, who walk with God and want to see a move of the Holy Spirit on Capitol Hill.

In addition to all of this, we are working tirelessly to fight an attempt by radicals in Congress to use a parliamentary procedure called ‘unanimous consent’ to pass the so-called “Equality Act.”

If this maneuver were to succeed and the bill pass, it would:

• Allow men living as, or even pretending to be women (and vice versa), to demand the right to teach in churches, schools, and daycare centers.
• Ban counselors from providing — and patients (including adults) from receiving — any counsel to overcome unwanted same-sex attraction, behavior, or identity. This bill literally sets the stage for banning the Bible, which offers the power to free those wanting to turn away from homosexual conduct.
• Require churches to allow same-sex weddings, if the church is open for weddings, between a man and a woman.
• Impact home businesses and online goods and services.
• Apply to all “gatherings,” including church services, prayer meetings, or any public religious activity.
• Completely transform the culture and force the LGBT agenda in every area.

And remember, there is NO RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION to this bill!

Shockingly, the “Equality Act” expressly states that the free exercise of religion is not a defense. That means it affects every church, every Christian daycare center, every Christian school, college and/or university, every Christian business, including home-based businesses, and every Christian organization in the country.

You can see why our presence on Capitol Hill is critical and how important it is that as your missionary team we are there every day, proclaiming the Gospel, meeting with national leaders, ministering to our Senators and Representatives and members of their staff, working hand in hand with the State Department to advance religious liberty, holding Bible studies and prayer meetings at our National Ministry Center, and working behind the scenes with leaders of our Federal Judiciary.

There is simply no one else so strategically located and actively involved in touching our national leaders with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. But we can only do that through your prayerful and faithful support. And, as the summer season begins, we need you to stand with us more than ever.
