Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Mar 12, 2020
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
Do you truly believe there is power in the Word of God—enough power to change the hardest hearts in Washington, D.C.?
We know that times are dark, and it seems that there are those in Washington D.C. who will never have their eyes opened to the truth. But we have to ask ourselves: Is anything impossible for our God? Is there any heart so hard that God's Word cannot pierce it?
The answer is a resounding "no." Nothing is impossible for our God.
We believe the words of Hebrews 4:12 which says, "the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword."
There is power in the Word of God.
At the name of Jesus voices that lie are silenced, chains are broken, captives are set free, eyes that are blind can see, hearts are surrendered, and dead men live. And in turn that means in our nation's capital it is possible for the sanctity of human life to be realized, religious freedom to be upheld, and biblical morality to be restored.
No matter how dark the times may be or how hard some hearts may look, we are called to stand. Our responsibility is to speak the truth and allow the Holy Spirit to do its work.
That's why we continue to walk in obedience by ministering to our leaders and speaking the truth to those in power. And that's why we are taking part in the US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon (May 2nd - 6th), and annual event during which the Word of God is read out loud, day and night, rain or shine, for ninety consecutive hours on the West Plaza of the U.S. Capitol.
US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon 2019
This year Peggy Nienaber, our Vice-President, and Rev. Greg Cox, our Lead Missionary will lead prayer in the opening ceremonies and will participate as readers. Would you like to participate too? If you or your family or church will be in the Washington, D.C. area during the US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon, there are reading time slots available. For more information call Patty Bills at 202-737-1776.
It's powerful to take part as a reader and also to watch as people walking by stop and listen. You never know who may be hearing God's Word for the very first time. And you never know whose heart will respond.
If you believe this is a worthwhile event that has the power for change, will you make a generous donation to Faith & Liberty today? People on Capitol Hill need to be challenged with the Word of God and we need you to make that happen.
Thank you for your prayers and generous financial support.
Your missionary team,
Peggy Nienaber, Vice-President
Mat Staver, Chairman
Rev. Gregory Cox, Lead Missionary
