In what can only be described as grotesque evil, forty-one Senators filibustered a bill, the Born-Alive Act, that would have protected newborn babies from having their hearts cut out of their chests while they are still alive.

As bill sponsor Sen. Ben Sasse stated, "This is not about abortion ... it's about babies that have survived a botched abortion. This should be a 100-0 no brainer." Yet, 41 Senators said, "NO!"

Think about that for a moment!

Because of these heartless Senators, medical staff can dump a child who survives an abortion into a bucket of formaldehyde and lock them in a closet for hours, even more than a day as they wait for the newborn infant to die! In 35 states, these medical staff can walk away from that closet with zero fear of legal consequences.

That's something that should activate every person in America. Pastors should be preaching passionate sermons about the importance of protecting life, knowing what the Bible says on this issue, and challenging their congregations to vote biblical values in the upcoming election.

But the reality is, too many pastors are afraid to bring a prophetic Word from their pulpits. They’ve been bullied into believing they must remain silent.

And we want to encourage you to pray for those Senators who voted against protecting babies, Senators like Dick Durbin (D-IL), Gary Peters (D-MI), Tina Smith (D-MN), Jon Tester, (D-MT), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), and Mark Warner (D-VA).

The Born-Alive Act will come up again in the days ahead for a vote. Pray with us that God will convict the hearts of Senators like those listed above and that they will get on the right side of history – and vote to save the lives of innocent babies who survive an abortion.
