Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Jul 12, 2019
We are entering one of the most impactful weeks of ministry in our history -- the Ministerial Summit to Advance Religious Liberty!
Although sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Faith & Liberty played a strategic role in planning this powerful gathering in our nation’s capital.
On Monday, participants from across the globe will converge on our Ministry Center across the street from the Supreme Court for a working breakfast as members of Congress, Senators, and US Ambassador-at-Large for Religious Freedom, Sam Brownback, meet to address global threats to religious liberty.
That same day, we will host in the Ministry Center the Nigerian delegation of religious, civic, and political leaders to discuss the threat of radical Islamic extremism in Nigeria. One need only read the headlines to see the horrific slaughter of entire Christian villages in Nigeria to understand the importance of this meeting!
Please pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria (and around the world) who face unimaginable horrors every day!
Throughout the week, we will participate in numerous critical conversations, such as transnational strategies for countering religious persecution, a U.S. Department of Justice Summit on Combatting Anti-Semitism, and the growing threat to religious leaders in China, Turkey, and other hot spots around the world.
Then, on Thursday, the Ministry Center will host a reunion of Covenant Journey alumni who now work or intern in the nation’s capital. These are young Christian leaders making a difference.
And, of course, we are working to stop the so-called “Equality Act” that, if passed, would be a terrible assault on religious freedom.
We ask that you keep these events, conversations, and opportunities for ministry in your prayers. And as you pray, will you take a moment to make the most generous investment possible in this unique ministry on Capitol Hill?
At Faith & Liberty, we work every day to serve as your missionaries, bringing the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our nation’s public policy makers. And this week we need you to stand with us, both in your daily prayers and in your faithful support.
Thank you! From all of us to you, may all of God’s richest blessings be yours!
Sincerely,
Your missionary team to Washington, DC.
