Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

A Critical Week

Mar 28, 2019

What's it like to work on Capitol Hill?

From attending press conferences, to researching important issues, to visiting members of Congress or attending a Congressional hearing, this week a group of interns are learning first-hand the ministry of Faith & Liberty. As we invest in these young students, we are performing one of our most important responsibilities, training up the next generation of missionaries to Washington, DC.

Interns with Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to the President for the Trump administration

Our interns are mentored by Peggy Nienaber, Vice-President of Faith & Liberty. They shadow Peggy every day on Capitol Hill where they might attend a congressional briefing or witness an argument at the US Supreme Court. Over the last few days, they have met with leaders from both sides of the political aisle. Each intern took the opportunity to pray for the members. They also had a private meeting with Chaplain Barry Black, the longest standing Chaplain of the US Senate and a friend of Faith & Liberty, and met with Abby Johnson, the subject of the documentary film, Unplanned.

Each intern also went through evangelistic training and assisted with congressional staffer Bible study held at our office.

While at the White House, our interns interacted with several members of the staff and met in the Vice-President's office. They also spend time with Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to the President for the Trump administration.

This has been one of the most successful weeks of training interns in the history of Faith & Liberty. For these young interns, their lives will never be the same! We attribute that to the fact we know you are praying for us. Thank you for your prayers! Together, we are making a difference.

At the same time, we also need your continued financial support. At this very moment when we are experiencing such success with these interns, we also face a critical financial shortfall for March. We need to raise $3,000 in the next three days to meet our obligations. That's pennies compared to those organizations on Capitol Hill that oppose the gospel, but for us it's a major challenge!

Will you help us now by making an urgently needed gift of $25, $35, $50, or even $100 or more to Faith & Liberty?

If you've been blessed by the Lord financially, please consider a larger gift of $500, $1000, or even $2000 or more. Every gift helps and is greatly appreciated!

As we prepare for the Passover Seder next week, one of our most powerful Gospel outreaches to Capitol Hill, we need you to stand with us to help us end March with all of our financial obligations met.

Thank you for your prayer! It's working!

And, thank you for taking a moment now to make the most generous online gift you can as we continue to train up missionaries to our nation's public policy makers!

All of God's best to you,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice-President
Mat Staver, Chairman
Greg Cox, Lead Missionary
