A Dangerous Threat to Every Christian!

I'm writing one of the most important message over created by Faith & Liberty. PLEASE, read it in its entirety. We face one of the most dangerous threats against the church in American history.

A bill introduced in the U.S. House is a direct threat to the church and to Faith & Liberty. We have no option but to respond!

The bill is H.R. 5, falsely labeled the 'Equality Act.' This pushes the LGBT agenda on all people and targets Christianity in every area of life--including the church.

This bill will elevate "sexual orientation and gender identity" to the same level of protection as gender. What you cannot do legally regarding LGBT. And this includes churches! Here are a few bullets:
  • Force every church or Christian organization to allow males to use female bathrooms, dressing rooms, and more!
  • Churches would be required to allow same-sex weddings if the church is open for weddings between a man and a woman.
  • Non-complying churches and colleges will lose tax-exempt status, and colleges will also lose accreditation.
  • For colleges, H.R. 5 applies to hiring, promotions, termination, and public accommodation for private, public, and nonprofit employers, including churches. It also applies t o "gatherings," and there is so much more.
And this is NO RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION to this bill! Shockingly, H.R. 5 expressly states that the free exercise of religion is not a defense. That means it affects every church, every Christian day care center, every Christian school, college, and university, every Christian business, including home-based businesses, and every Christian organization in the country. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

We believe H.R. 5 will pass the U.S. House of Representatives, so the battle will be in the Senate. For Faith & Liberty, this is an Esther moment. Perhaps, it is for this very moment that God called us to Washington, DC, so many years ago, to begin our missionary outreach!

We will do all we can to stop H.R. 5 from becoming the law of the land. But, we need your help! There are two actions we ask you to take with us.

First, join us in prayer against H.R. 5! Just as Esther prayed before she went before the King, it's time for the church to cry out to God as never before on behalf of our nation.

After prayer, Esther engaged the King and boldly spoke against the threat to her people. And, right now, at Faith & Liberty, we are preparing to marshal all our energy and forces against this threat to the church! But, our efforts to prevent this attack are all in ADDITION to our daily missionary efforts and expenses on Capitol Hill! That's why, if you've every supported us financially before, we NEED you to stand with us again!

P.S. It's critical that we all take H.R. 5 and the threat it poses to the church seriously. Remember, if this bill passes, churches would be forced to host same-sex ceremonies and they will lose tax-exempt status for noncompliance. Colleges will be forced to hire and accommodate applicants from the LGBT community and will lose accreditation for noncompliance. They will become ineligible to receive student loans, causing most religious schools to compromise their core mission or close. Churches or religious organizations that take overnight trips, including sports or mission trips, cannot segregate rooms by biological gender. Biological men will have access to bathrooms, showers, and nursing-mother rooms at any time. And, there's even more. JOIN US IN PRAYER - AND STAND WITH US THROUGH YOUR SUPPORT. Thank you!
