Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Mar 18, 2019
Today as we begin another busy week on Capitol Hill, we thank God for you! Everything we do as your missionaries to our nation's public policy makers happens only because of your prayers and generous support.
Right now, we are planning our Spring outreaches to the Hill. That includes a special Messianic Passover Seder on Tuesday, April 2, that we host in our ministry center, right across the street from the Supreme Court and one block from the US Capitol Building.
On this very special night, our ministry center is filled with guests as we take staff members from all three branches of government through the traditional Passover meal, with emphasis on Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of the Passover. For many, this remarkable evening is the first time they will hear the Gospel in its historical context.
It is a powerful and moving night of ministry - and it produces results. Over the years, several have committed their lives to Jesus Christ as a result of our Passover Seder.
And, less than 30 days later (April 28 - May 2), we will again engage in the US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon, when the entirety of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, will be read aloud from the historic West Plaza of the US Capitol Building.
During this unique experience on Capitol Hill, people from across the nation will join with members of Congress, Congressional Chaplains, and civic and religious leaders to read the Bible 24 hours a day for five days as a powerful witness to our national leaders of the Truths of God's Word!
If you will be in the DC area during that time, PLEASE PLAN TO JOIN US!
And, of course, these two Spring events are the 'tip of the iceberg' of our missionary outreach to the three branches of government. Every day, as your missionaries to Washington, DC, we actively reach out to all three branches of government, bringing the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of those that make public policy in America.
And, every day that happens ONLY because you stand with us through your prayers and your financial support.
And right now, we need you to stand with us again. We are facing a budget shortfall for March and are praying to end the month in the black so we will have the necessary resources for our Messianic Passover Seder and the US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon.
As a good friend of this unique missionary outreach, will you take a moment now to make the most generous online contribution you can? Your support is both needed and greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your prayers and your generosity! Thank you for standing with us!
Your missionaries to Capitol Hill,
Peggy Nienaber, Vice-President
Mat Staver, Chairman
